THE ROLE 

We are looking for an Associate Director/ Director to join the team to lead our Competition, Anti-Trust and Litigation offering.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join an established office and to work with our roster of existing clients. The role also offers the opportunity to create an entire new division of products and services for global, regional and local prospects, tapping into Edelman’s existing roster of clients network resources and expertise. 
 
EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of the global and European competition, anti-trust and litigation environment and the key institutions and players; over 10 years’ experience working in the legal/regulatory/competition policy/communication fields; 
  • A strong understanding of the intricacies of the EU policy environment and how legal issues work across the region, as well as sound understanding of how best to effectively influence key processes; 
  • An ability to work in the area of competition and anti-trust policy but also an appreciation for how litigation processes work and how best to leverage communication techniques to drive better outcomes; 
  • Consultancy experience and an ability to build out a business/offer; and
  • An ability to bring the multiple communication techniques to play on a strategic challenge. 

EXPECTATIONS 

  • The vision and foresight to create a team within the Edelman Brussels office, offering competition, anti-trust and litigation communications support to global, regional and local clients; 
  • Supporting across the wider team as/when required and being a true team player; 
  • Building a network of contacts across the Edelman network and working to drive a community of litigation support across our global footprint with a specific focus on demonstrating your understanding of Brussels and operating within the EU context; 
  • Building a business to support your vision and ambition to contribute to the office’s objectives and strategy; 
  • Driving collaboration and innovative thinking in a global agency set up to help support partnership and business growth; 
  • Provide hands-on assistance with daily tasks related to communications, advising and executing across several client accounts and teams as required; and
  • Support with organisation of and preparation of materials for meetings, events or other client/stakeholder engagement activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent level of English (oral and written) is required; 
  • Other European languages would be beneficial (e.g. French or German or others); 
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in journalism, communications, PR, languages, political science, international relations, law or other relevant field; 
  • Good knowledge/understanding of the global policy debate, the European landscape and specific Member State knowledge is expected – specific PR related knowledge is a plus, as is knowledge of communications marketing; 
  • Passionate about communications and policy issues; 
  • Excellent analytical and written skills; 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – a positive approach with a self-learning attitude; 
  • Ability to work under pressure and on multiple assignments; 
  • Ability to work effectively in a varied environment and within small dynamic teams; 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), additional skills are a plus; 
  • Knowledge of digital communication and social media; and

Senior/Account Executive, Digital

Edelman Brussels is looking for a talented Account Executive or Senior Account Executive to start working in the Digital team as soon as possible.

You possess a passion for social media and digital marketing and are an active participant in social networks. You understand digital campaigns and love digging into the analytics behind what is and isn’t working across your channels. 

Having an appetite for proactively staying on top of the latest digital trends, platforms and social media channels is a must. 

You have 3-5 years of experience in digital communication or digital marketing roles.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in digital strategy development and program execution for Edelman clients
  • Foster community engagement with our clients’ brands across social media platforms while managing and mitigating issues.
  • Exhibit effective project management skills, including preparing and updating timelines, activity reports, and status reports for internal team and clients.
  • Support the team in monitoring clients’ social media channels, flagging or escalating issues as they arise within conversations while referencing established brand and community guidelines.
  • Learn to collect and analyze metrics in order to identify trends and themes, optimize program strategy and content.
  • Participate in preparing social media monitoring reports for clients.
  • Contribute to creative production of graphics, GIFs, videos and other marketing assets.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Native or near-native level of English (oral and written) is required.
  • Prior experience managing digital channels – social, newsletters and websites – is a must.
  • Skills in at least one of the following two areas:
    • Excellent design skills, creative development experience and experience of the Adobe Creative Suite, or;
    • Data analysis and data handling skills – if you know R or Python please mention it!
  • Knowledge of other European languages would be an asset.
  • Prior agency or client-facing experience would be an asset.
  • Adept at writing compelling copy for online channels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on multiple assignments.

Account Executive – Health & Wellbeing

Job responsibilities

  • A focus on EU policy, engagement and communication programmes for clients, including but not limited to health and wellbeing, as well as related specific issues;
  • Supporting as the day-to-day contact with clients, identifying and flagging policy challenges and opportunities and providing related strategic advice;
