Maria joined the Brussels office of Edelman Global Advisory in October 2022, where she supports clients across sectors, including health, government affairs, nutrition, and sustainability, on EU policy and public affairs strategies.
Prior to joining Edelman Global Advisory, Maria undertook internships at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the European Union (Justice and Home Affairs Unit), at the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Directorate-General for Foreign Policy (European Political Affairs Unit) and at the Portuguese High Commission for Migration.
Maria holds a Master's degree in International Relations from NOVA University Lisbon and a Bachelor's degree in European Studies from the University of Lisbon.
She is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and an intermediate French speaker
